This one was very dark and gruesome and I liked almost everything about it. The only thing that didn’t really work for me was Kaiser’s POV, and I think I would have liked this book better with only Geo’s POV. Honestly, he didn’t add that much, the story wouldn’t have had to suffer much for it. But overall some excellent dark fiction!

This would have been a 5 star read if the epilogue would have been -slightly- more flushed out. So SO good. A heart pounding, gut wrenching look into the wrong side of "coming of age" and how our past will always come back to haunt us.

The first two-thirds of this book I couldn’t put it down, but the last third was a disappointment and kind of terrible.

Definitely my least favorite Hillier - I lacked compassion for our main character and the whole ending with its twists and reveals felt a bit much.

Intriguing to read, but one that will only stick with me with the bad parts in mind.
