sky and holder will always have a special place in my heart :(

It was a good book, loved the characters so much but it was a little too messed up for my liking. I felt uncomfortable during some realization. But the author really took time to build the plot to this book, and it’s very obvious. I went pretty blindly into this book and absolutely loved it especially at the beginning but once again it got to be too much for me to handle. LOOK UP TRIGGER WARNINGS.

It's final. Colleen Hoover is my favorite author ever.

4 emotionally devastating stars….

Okay there are so many reviews out there, as I am kind of late to the game, but I wanted to add my piece…..

Ummmmnnnn….

description

Holy balls this book was intense!! You know? And just when I thought I had the whole thing pegged, I get a curve ball of extra grief I wasn’t expecting.

I have seen this book get a lot of flak for the male lead, that he’s “possessive/controlling” or even “creepy” (which is the main reason I wanted to do a review) and I must wholeheartedly disagree….especially by the time you hit the last page. I see reasons and validation behind all of his actions, and they all seem to be out of caring for Sky. He seems wise beyond his years, and very selfless and devoted to her, and protecting her, which is something I think is admirable at that age. I feel like based on all of the emotional turmoil, things like that can be over-looked?

Or maybe I’m just a sucker for an intense love story?? Either way, I think this book was really beautiful!

98%...bylo to téměř dokonalé ♥ (a za téměř se vejde hodně!). :D
RECENZE na blogu...

I was emotional during multiple parts of this book. I think it was captivating from the POV of both characters. Obviously, there are always parts where we could get more of a backstory or stretch out parts (I think the ending felt a bit rushed) but overall, the story was good and captivating for a quick read

I wanted so bad to give this a 5 star review because I really, really, really loved this book. There are just some things about it that caused me to drop my stars by .5.

Sólo tengo que decir que quiero mucho a Six

Very well written book but I’m traumatized

Spoilers....

While the writing in Hopeless by Colleen Hoover was detailed and created characters that I wanted to like and follow, my biggest problem with this book was the storyline. The story took on themes that were not mentioned in the synopsis that I found too heavy and not entertaining (i.e. child sexual abuse, kidnapping) because I did not expect it. I also found that the way the characters handled the situation (boy knows girl is his neighbor who was kidnapped and then how they handled their relationship after he met with her father, the perpetrator of the sexual abuse). As someone who works with children who have survived abuse, this story completely skips over some of the main consequences and uses it only as a tool to create suspense. There are also multiple triggers that individuals might experience and readers should be aware of them before starting this book.
