Coleen Hoover’s books are huge hits or misses for me. The synopsis never is about what the book is about. This one is no exception. The synopsis didn’t say anything about what the book was about at all. I had no clue what to expect because I had no idea what the book was about. Some crazy stuff went down in this book that I was not expecting. And it just kept coming that definitely threw me. I did enjoy this book way more than other Colleen Hoover books in the past.
I liked this book for a lot of the book, but the reveal towards the end made everything feel really gross... I don't think this book was the right one to tackle the subject matter that it wanted to. It ended up feeling like it didn't take those topics seriously and that was pretty rough to read. I still like Hoover's writing so I'll try more of her books, but this one was an uncomfortable letdown for me.
Heartbreaking
My heart is crushed into a million pieces. This book was so much more than the romance I expected. It was heartbreaking, devastating, and had twists I never saw coming until I was reading them through tears. That said...there are some pretty heavy topics with zero trigger warnings that I've been able to find on either the kindle or Amazon app. I had to pause a few times before continuing and I'm sure many readers could experience even worse reactions to some of the content given no warning.

I really don't know why but this book didn't involved me from the begging like other books from Colleen Hoover. I just didn't feel it. The characters didn't reach me. It might have been the timing of the reading and not the book itself.
This is not a light book, don't get fooled by the promise of romance. This is a heavy theme book
I predicted the twists...and some I hoped it was not what I suspected. I felt nauseous, I really don't like to think about molestation of children.
I think am still going to read the second book of this series.

a heavily underrated& my absolute fav coho book
I don't t usually write anything but this book was amazing! Slammed and Point of Retreat were the 2 books that really put me back on the path of reading, constantly. And Colleen just proved again that her books can really transport you into a new world while escaping my own. The butterflies of a first kiss, the anxiousness of new love, felt by me the reader through words. It's amazing and I am so grateful for these authors that can invoke that! One of my all time favorite books that i will revisit often! Beautiful book and no cliffhanger..thank you!
Overrated. Typical teen romance with an implausible plot line. Also, if I ever hear anyone say "I live you," I will throw up in my mouth.
