It is interesting to compare Colleen’s earlier works with the recent ones I have only came across. She did not disappoint.
I actually prefer the writing style in this novel compared to her other reads. Very American as usual but it didn’t give me a headache which means it wasn’t too sickenly written.
Sky I found to be quite annoying, she is our main character and to go without TV or technology is mind blowing when everyone of that age is interested to try it whereas she acts as if she doesn’t care less or sees a need for even a mobile phone, very unrealistic.
For someone that is aware that Holder has issues you’d think she wouldn’t tempt him by purposely ignoring questions. He asked her where she got her bracelet it’s a simple question that she ignored when she would know that by being ignorant like that of course he would be annoyed. And the fact that she knew what he was thinking was such a bitchy thing to do.
I like her loyalty towards Karen but she is a little naive. When you think about the things she was told, the character we were originally introduced to as Sky should really consider her memories and what she believes as her gut instinct instead of being so quick to dismiss everything she is being told.
“Sometimes the right thing to do isn’t always the best answer”
This novel did have some interesting quotes I will admit that.
It was an interesting read that was enjoyable even though I wanted to scream at the main character for a few reasons. Also, at least Holder was a bit more realistic I can imagine a very feminine man saying those things, it happens.

Such a sweet book with an unexpected twist. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
WOW!!! I couldn't put this book down. I have to admit that I didn't read what the book was about, I just saw that it got rave reviews and it had a cool cover. With that being said, I loved it from the very first chapter. The writing is so easy and real. I personally loved the sarcasm and could relate to the characters instantly. As the story unfolded, my mind couldn't stop questioning and processing what I was reading. It is a great book that I'm sure I'll read again, but it won't be like the "first time"... I hope it'll be even better!
"He turns around to tend to the pasta like he didn't just ruin me for any other guy for the rest of my life"... EPIC!

( ⭐️ 2.5 stars because the writing is addicting)
let me preface this by saying that I really really enjoy Colleen Hoover’s writing style, and that was true with Hopeless as well. As such, I will still be reading more of her novels. Hopeless was a very interesting ride, but overall it felt really cheesy. this alone would have still garnered it three or four stars tho, but it also delved into some really disturbing content. Also the main characters decision making made me want to scream and pls come find me in person because i could RANT about some crazy decisions. ALSO i agree with some other reviews here that she really just loaded in all these different traumas and coincidences and at a certain point it just seemed like too much and ruined the realness of it.
I think it’s really evident through this book how colleen hoover’s writing has matured, as evidenced by an increased nuance in books like It Ends With Us. Would recommend giving this one a pass— but go read It Ends With Us! (or one of her other novels.. i just haven’t read them yet).

Nooooope. Nope nope nope. I am so grateful I am not in a relationship like the one Holder and Sky have concocted for themselves. Truly horrendous, scary, and most unforgivable of all, cheesy. This is the first time in a very long while I almost broke my rule where I finish every book I read. This was truly torture.
I went into this book with high expectations and was slightly disappointed. I understand that the book is mainly romance but not much happened until the end. All the plot was packed into the last few chapters. Those were the best part of the books though. That’s why I give this book 3 stars. However the first 75% of the book felt a little bland. I think reading the sequel from Holders point of view would be more interesting!
When Sky meets Holder she is instantly smitten.... Strange for a 17 year old who never feels much about guys. He's intense, mysterious about his past, and sweet all at the same time. But, he doesn't like to talk about his past and Sky has questions she's never asked her adoptive mother about hers. Can these two young people figure out how they're connected and move towards a happy future? The author moves between the present and past in this novel and it takes awhile to figure out where these stories connect. Even after you do you want to learn more.
I really liked this book even though it took me so long to read! Cutest couple 4 sure.
Unpopular opinion, but this was way to "teenagey" for me. Took a while to get to the plot and i didnt like how the chapters were set up. I got through it!
