Read TRIGGER WARNINGS! I went in blind, and this book was so hard to get through at times. This book was definitely DARK compared to others I’ve read by her.
I hated how Rae closed herself off from the band, and didn’t even go see them once while they were touring before her brother died. I know she was dealing with her own trauma and pain but it didn’t make sense to me how she was basically a member of the band and then ghosted until it was too late, and her brother was gone. Even if she wanted to avoid Ezra, how could she not go at least visit her brother who is her favorite person in the world at some point? That really bothered me. She went through SO MUCH loss and abuse throughout the book. It was like she was an over abused punching bag in a gym. Like I said before it was very hard to keep reading at times, but the story sucks you in and you want to keep reading to find out what happens next.
She definitely knows how to write a brother’s best friend book! This one takes you through all of the emotions, and leaves you with a very good HEA.

Wow! What an emotional rollercoaster this was! I was not expecting this book to have me in tears, and yet it did! More than once!
This was an unforgettable story of second chances and the undeniable connection between Rae and Ezra. The character growth was beautiful and complex, and watching their separate stories unravel and collide had my heart in my throat!

I ended up liking this way more than I thought I would. It’s my first rockstar romance, so I didn’t really know what to expect. It starts off kind of slow, but once things started really going I was hit with plot twists. Ezra and Raleigh have this heavy, emotional connection. It’s not simple, it’s not sweet, but it’s raw, it’s painful, and it’s real. They’re both trying to heal, trying to figure out who they are after everything that broke them, and the only way they can really move forward is with each other. I felt that. It’s emotional, a little messy, and worth the read.

Didnt expect THAT. Not only is there violent detailed rape but it’s by her father. WTF
There’s a flashback description of what happened in her teens N that’s pretty rough but plot relevant and then
page 380 begins full violence nasty descriptive rape and murder. I’m not one to complain or even read the warnings really BUT OMG the description n warnings don’t mention incest and it was definitely not necessary to detail the adult violent rape scene so pornographically!
It was not plot relevant. Gross. The ass rape description by her father was necessary? REALLY?!?! No.
I honestly enjoyed the writing style and story line and love some dirty dirty porn but I was not prepared for this.

This wasn’t as dark as I thought it was going to be, however, I still really enjoyed it! Another one to really check the trigger warnings before reading. Definitely a couple of tough chapters to get through.
