Wow, amazing book.
I love the contrast between their fiery passionate love and traumatic events described in book and how they overcome the bad things. Characters are broken so lovely it hurts. You feel all the feels!

Raleigh and Ezra, wow… what a story. I love that they got their second chance to be together. I don’t have words. Sheridan Anne you do not disappoint. The character and plot development was CHEFS KISS 🤌🏻👨🏻‍🍳 perfection. This was so good, kind of messed up in parts but so good. What Raleigh went through made me nauseous, this is the first book that has provoked such a response like that from me.  I take pride in being able to read these types of books and not let them affect me like that, but this one got me. Without giving a spoiler, I’m certain it’s because of who did it to her.

Raleigh and Ezra claimed each other since she was 13 years old as soon as he walked through the door with her brother to start a band. With their age difference, nothing happened physically, but they were each other's everything. All that is no longer true because after their band blew up, she hasn't seen him for years. They always promise to take her with them if they get famous but leave her . What they don't realize is that they left her with a monster. So this book goes from past to present. I loved that they never really did anything as kids but very much loved each other. I was a little stunned about what happened to make them see each other again. And the fallout after that meeting. I love a second chance, and this is very much about different factors holding them back. Ahe is keeping big secrets, which one of them I understand, but the story line of some of her life didn't make sense due to the people and funds she has available. Also, it really was redundant once she was hired to help with the band how much of the same conversation her and Ezra had over and over. The last scene with her father was a lot, and that didn't make sense either on how public the storyline was. It kinda gave me the big ick. Please read the trigger warnings with this one.

Ezra and Raleigh bring that insta-connection we all hope to experience in life. When Axel, Rae’s brother brings home a new bandmate, the three build a strong friendship like family. In brother’s best friend romance books, oftentimes the brother doesn’t approve of or allow a relationship between his best friend and younger sister. That never seemed to be the case with Ezra and Rae while it was platonic. The three of them were inseparable until the boys accepted a record deal to go on tour then everything changed.

Something about this book gets you in the feels fast. As I wrote in a post to Sheridan Anne “man the punches are punching early,” and that describes how my feelings stayed the whole time. You love not just the main characters but all the characters in the book. You root for a relationship, family, and mending a broken friendship. You feel the heartbreak, turmoil of bad decisions, life hardships, and much more in this story.

I always love the best friend in Sheridan Anne’s books, but in this one, the best friend didn’t steal any of the thunder from the main female character (in my opinion). I still of course want MORE MORE MORE and would love another book with the characters in this book. The dynamic of the two main characters was just so good and gut-wrenching, healing, and more at times that the focus on them was enough for me to focus on their story.

This had some of my favorite tropes/themes in a romance book and Sheridan did the job better than better. Her characters have a deep backstory, pivotal experiences, and emotional depth to them that makes the reader feel and experience life alongside them. I look forward to the next emotional story “Remember Us This Way” which releases in September 2024!

AND YES I WOULD GIVE IT MORE THAN 5 STARS :)
