I saw another reviewer describe this book as "grotesque" and like honestly that's pretty accurate. It was a fun and definitely disturbing read. The stories were interesting and well-written, although I found that some dragged more than I would have liked them to. The commentary on the role of women that wove through so many of the stories was interesting and will definitely be something that I sit with for a while.

Phew. This collection of short stories was really enjoyable, but trippy. It’s not going to be for everyone. The sheer creativity involved in coming up with these particular body horror themes really blows my mind. Some of the stories were home runs, others not so much. The stories can be a little slow, but generally work in terms of pacing. The characters are enjoyable and the author does a great job of writing shorts that feel complete. I appreciated that these horror pieces didn’t hinge on tropes and were each very unique. The translation from Korean to English was a bit wobbly in spots, but was overall decent. Worth a read, especially if you need short stories in your life. If you’re easily grossed out, might not be the right fit.

It's difficult to rate this book, as some of the stories were hard for me to understand without understanding their cultural context. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't able to get at any deeper meaning to some of the more gory stories, which left me with the feeling that things were just done for shock value (which is probably wrong). The concepts and ideas in this bundle are really intriguing and some of the stories do get stuck in your head quite a bit because they are so unique and make you uncomfortable for quite some time after reading them.

The first two stories are very gory, and I don't think they give a very good impression of the rest of the bundle so don't stop reading if you dislike those two. The other stories can be gory as well, but I feel like they have more to offer aside from that. 'Snare' (definitely horrifying in its own way) was my favourite, and the last three stories are a good read as well.

I'm personally not really a fan of the writing style as it can get a bit repetitive, but it's also not offensive and it reads pretty easily.
