This was wildly interesting. Most of the stories were very vivid for their length and explored a variety of themes. My favorite was Scars but that could’ve been because it was one of the longest and I got the most time with it.

I liked some stories more than others.. some were really slow and tough to get through, which could be due to the translation. Most, if not all, had a message behind the story and were very thought provoking. Some of the stories definitely felt like there were some loose ends that could've been tied up better, but I guess that adds to the mystery of it. Overall, a pretty decent book and I can see myself reading it again, maybe just skipping over my least favorite stories.

Horror is not usually my cup of tea, but I enjoyed this. Something about the writing style and absurd plots made the stories seem less scary. Probably worth checking the trigger warnings.

Make it past the first and second story and you will reach gold. A beautiful anthology discussing trauma, revenge, love, greed, guilt, with a mix of sci-fi and horror to really emphasise the themes.

I really loved the stories, I loved that despite everything it wasn’t all doom and gloom. There were some happy endings within it all.

My top three stories have to be:
1. Cursed Bunny
2. Home Sweet Home
3. Snare
But to be honest I loved all of them bar the first two.

Maybe don’t trust the Easter Bunny this year…

🐰Cursed Bunny contains 10 short stories that won my heart with their creativity and defiance of genre norms. Each story is grounded in reality, no matter how surreal or fantastical it gets. They uncover the ruthless oppression of social norms and the violence humans are capable of when given the opportunity.

🐰In Bora Chung’s twisted universe, anything goes. Here, enchanted bunnies become karma representatives. Ghosts are merciless, even when they smile. A fox bleeding gold cannot satisfy the insatiable greed of a man. Growing old in a society that only treasures youth or getting pregnant are fears that manifest themselves in grotesque ways. Artificial companions take revenge on their superficial masters. Human sacrifices please the gods…

🐰The writing, the impeccable translation, the layers of each story. Cursed Bunny is a delicious treat. If you are a fan of mind-bending horror, pick it up!

It's difficult to rate this book, as some of the stories were hard for me to understand without understanding their cultural context. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't able to get at any deeper meaning to some of the more gory stories, which left me with the feeling that things were just done for shock value (which is probably wrong). The concepts and ideas in this bundle are really intriguing and some of the stories do get stuck in your head quite a bit because they are so unique and make you uncomfortable for quite some time after reading them.

The first two stories are very gory, and I don't think they give a very good impression of the rest of the bundle so don't stop reading if you dislike those two. The other stories can be gory as well, but I feel like they have more to offer aside from that. 'Snare' (definitely horrifying in its own way) was my favourite, and the last three stories are a good read as well.

I'm personally not really a fan of the writing style as it can get a bit repetitive, but it's also not offensive and it reads pretty easily.
