Volume 4 is an unskippable part of AoT. AoT is a lot like Game of Thrones in that it's constantly recycling it's cast by killing some off every couple of volumes. But what AoT does that GoT doesn't is that it makes you really care for the characters it routinely kills off. Volume four touches on the backstory of the main trainees and makes you fall in love with them. Sasha, Annie and Ymir in particular all have very iconic phrases and scenes that are recalled in later volumes, it's no wonder the three later became fan favorites.

Great manga volume....onwards to the Survey Corps!
