pros:
1. the middle of this book took a nice little break from all the war and action which i like, even tho i love books with constant action and constant things going on it is nice to have a tiny break from all the chaos
2. kinda introduced the readers to some side characters so that’s cool, it’s nice to take a break from the main characters and kinda focus on the side characters that we haven’t really gotten a chance to fully see
cons:
1. during the middle of the book i legitimately couldn’t tell if it was some sort of flashback or what, so a nice little note would’ve helped cause i was a tiny bit confused on where the book was headed
2. wish they’d talk a tiny bit more about eren’s father and that basement, but i’m guessing hopefully they’ll do that in some other volume so that’s nice, cause wtf in that basement……i wanna know.also, marco :(( rip

I was not too fond of the pacing in this volume.
I prefer how the anime does it, having all the scenes with them in the cadet corp before the Battle of Trost and not after, as it feels a lot more confusing as he cuts to them after the battle. Then, to them just starting their training years prior and then cutting to after the Battle of Trost and the cleanup. It's all just somewhat confusing.
