I don’t like the romance genre. And this was a book about a woman who doesn’t like the romance genre. I enjoyed this… it was very cute. Some moments were so corny that I cringed. The main character annoyed me sometimes. But overall, I enjoyed the story and the banter. And I appreciated the theme of thinking you’re always going to be one thing (in this case, an actress), turning out to be another (an audiobook narrator), wrestling with that, and then finding peace with it in the end.

The best friend part was very cute, too!

Really interesting to read about a nod to AI taking over audiobook narration, just as Hollywood’s writers are on strike/closing a deal regarding AI controls in the business.
I first heard Julia Whelan in Carrie Soto is Back, and immediately loved her. I’m stoked to listen to her as an author, as well.
