this was a fun, cute read with lovely characters. sadly the writing just didn’t do it for me

I absolutely adored this sweet Rom Com so much! Holly was a great character, and that meet ugly was actually the cutest thing! I loved Kai instantly for her and loved how their relationship developed over time. From enemies to frienemies to fake dating with real feelings, everything between them was authentic and perfect.
I didn't see that twist with MJ coming, but I loved how that went—and all the secondary characters were great too! I want an Alec book and a Mano book now

An endearing holiday romance full of humor and two people trying to overcome their past heartbreak and welcome a future full of possibilities.
This book was just so impeccably written, like I love this author genuinely. But this is my go to author if I want to feel emotions and sadness and cry, my eyes out for characters that I love. I go to her to break my heart and then put it back together. But this book is just so different and is welcomed honestly because it was so heartwarming and funny and the banter was just so amazing. I loved that he fell first And honestly there was not one thing wrong with this book.

this book had me giggling by the second chapter. i LOVED both the MCs, Holly & Kai as well as Kai’s brother, Mano. their story is like strangers to enemies to best friends to lovers???? i think a lot happened in the story but i also feel like i needed it to be longer??? Holly & Kai’s friendship was super strong but i didn’t fully see their sexual chemistry like….at all…..? i also really wasn’t thinking there’d be a 3rd act breakup & this one could’ve been completely avoided

Die Hauptfiguren waren zum verlieben. Mega sympathisch, hatten Charakter, Chemie, Entwicklung, Humor.
Vor allem die Entwicklung der Freundschaft hat mir mega gefallen. Und dann wurde daraus mehr. Fand es sehr realistisch und nicht überstürzt.
Mochte auch den Hintergrund der Beiden mit ihren Eltern. Auch wenn Hollys Mutter ein Einzelstück war.
Einerseits bin ich froh, dass wir die Frau nicht mehr ertragen mussten, gleichzeitig hätte ich mir fast etwas mehr gewünscht. Aber war sehr stolz auf Holly, dass sie ihr mal die Meinung gesagt hat.
Weihnachten war kein Hauptbestandteil der Geschichte - also nicht davon abschrecken lassen, auch wenn das Buch als Weihnachtsromanze vermarktet wurde. Das Buch startet an Weihnachten und endet an Weihnachten, aber mehr hat es damit auch nicht zu tun.
Ich finde auch, dass das Buch mehr Humor hat als manch andere Bücher der Autorin. Hier fehlen die herzzerreissenden Gefühle, aber hat mich nicht gestört.
