probably too much backstory that had sort of been covered previously but the actual plot feels like it’s relevant to the overall story and things are actually building up to something.

Overall, the volume was pretty good - explanations were made, progressions were taken. My only complaint was the density of the middle of the three story arcs. Can't wait for more!

I sometimes don't like this book. I sometimes hate the characters. I sometimes don't understand what's going on.

I wasn't a big fan. I never really understood why Monkey was being treated so poorly, but what Butcher did was just ridiculous. I also wasn't all that interested in Mallory's backstory, that dragged for me as well.
On the other hand, I liked the development we got from Dr. Peculiar and his files.
This felt like on of the worst volumes for me. But we could also say quiet before the storm...

At this point things get a little complicated. I started wondering whether there was a bit too much story going on here. Too many complex players and motives fooling with the story's momentum. But I hung in there.
