As a middle book, this hit all the marks - it elevated the story, rearranged the players, played chess with the dynamics. I wanted some more development for certain character's motivations, since some dynamics felt too convenient; Kais's betrayal for the sake of his mother, in particular, needed to be fleshed out . The writing stayed solid, but there were moments the author clung too closely to titles.
That all being said, that Ending Though! Definitely sticking around for this conclusion.

What an explosive sequel! I read it all within about five hours because I couldn't put it down. This sequel just picks up and it doesn't let up until the end, much like the first book was. But this book starts a little after the ending of the first book and multiple characters get more light on the page, such as Ramson and knowing a bit more of his past and family. Plus, there's a new POV for this book! I kind of missed it just being Ana and Ramson, but I did like the addition. Overall, fantastic read and I'm pumped for the final book in the trilogy.
