I believe I must have been around 11 or 12 when I first read this book, back when I would get around three books at a time at the library and burn through them in a few weeks, and I am honestly surprised it took me so long to remember it considering how much I think it impacted my worldview and interests in cybersecurity and privacy from then on. I remember doing the toilet-paper roll trick to see if my room had been bugged. It made me feel grown-up and treated with respect the way it delivers information regarding tech, but reading it now it does feel a bit childish, but in the way that all YA novels do. Still as relevant as ever, and still as potent.
