A fun solo adventure for Cassiopeia Vitt. I always enjoy the sprinkling of historical facts mixed with fiction that Berry always instills in his stories.

2.5 Stars. Decent start to the story, but 75% in, it felt like the book softened and wilted. I wish there was less reminder that Cotton Malone isn't in the book. The general topic was fine, but frame too common to these styles of book (secret sects of religious groups).

The information about the Cathars was interesting but the story was weak and the ending unsatisfactory.
Probably the start of a series but mot one I'm inclined to seek out

Steve Berry is one of my favorite authors and I like these offshoots to his other character. Nevertheless, I did not enjoy this one. I liked the historical aspects, as always, but this one had some editing issues — in my opinion. Using the last name of one character and the first name of another in the same sentence was somewhat off putting. Additionally, the ending left me wondering what legal consequences would result.

Much better than the first adventure written by MJ Rose, but I’m still not a fan.
