3.5 stars only cause it took me forever to read. I got 70% in and restated it with the audiobook. Other than that I enjoyed it and finished the book in 2 days

My goal for the year is to read 10 non fiction books which for me is a lot! I’m a true fiction romance/ mystery fan girl at heart but this book made me realize true crime can be just as addictive. This was written before he was caught which is just so sad to know she died prior to Joseph DeAngelo being caught. I feel like she knew - she had so many clues marked down and she was so close! I do wonder how law enforcement felt about a civilian digging into these cold cases - like was it encouraging to them or frustrating knowing someone was writing about it. I appreciate that she mostly left the families of the victims alone and out of this book but the cufflink story was heart breaking. I cannot imagine the roller coaster of emotions they must have felt when being contacted to confirm if this was there cufflinks.
