A perfectly decent story for children, which I've been reading with my class. As a middle schooler though, I liked Nightmare Stairs more (by the same author) so only 4 stars this time.

Amazing way of writing that can grip the reader to want to read more and repeat reading it ...

I remember reading this book in school and loved it. I was so excited for my English class so we could continue with the story. When I got home from school I would tell my parents how much I loved the book and would actually go to bed early just so the next day came quicker! (How crazy is that!!)

Next Christmas we had all opened our presents when my dad came downstairs with a little presents with my name on it. I opened the present so quickly and let out the scream. My Parents had brought me my very own Room 13. I couldn't believe it. I was a stranger that Christmas up in my room reading my very own copy of the Room 13.

This book has to be one of my all time favorite books from my childhood. I still have my copy to this day, sitting all tattered and stained on my book shelve.

I will never part with it. I wonder what other books Robert Swindells has wrote. Will definitely check that out.

This book is a must read.

Second read: Still not my favourite class read but my god the class LOVED it - yet another one that they clapped for at the end?! Barmy, but adorable.
6/10 (+2 for how much the children liked it)

First read: The best part of this book was the fact that I could talk to my class about Buffy
A very generous 4/10
