I actually listened to it, but it absolutely changed my life. Mind-blowing. I hope to have a copy and actually read it someday.

The writing is fine and I actually found myself resonating with some of the lessons and takeaways conveyed in this book. It's a mostly straightforward story if it weren't for the magical realism element, which in multiple occasions, just make events confusing to follow.
I think The Alchemist is an okay book to start your reading journey with since it covers some of the basic genres without being too overwhelming.
