This book tells the stories of a diverse group of people whose lives intertwine.  I was drawn to the book because of the old people dealing with Alzheimer’s.

For me, the flaw in this book is that it tells the stories from the POV of too many of the characters.  There are too many different stories.  The story opened with a prologue that made no sense to me, until I was halfway through the book and reread it. Although it foreshadows something to come, none of the characters mentioned in the prologue appear for several chapters.

The opening chapter is from the POV of Mali, one of the older people.  I really enjoyed her the chapter and was looking forward to more from her POV.  However, the two people who get the most attention are a senior in high school and his mother. Although we learn much about what happens to Mali, there are few chapters from her POV, and some of the issues raised in her opening chapter are never resolved.

This book needed to be longer to provide more coverage of everyone.  Or to drop some POVs.
