Beautifully written. Not much happens, yet the book really managed to capture my attention. The audiobook is narrated so so well. Cried the whole last two hours, but it was worth it.

 

Loved the subtle (and less subtle) ways in which the author had Parvaneh deal with Ove's clear suicidality - making sure he knew she needed helping, things needed fixing, or that he knew arrangements had been made with her for driving lessons. And having him take care of the cat, of course. It all felt really warm, like she really *saw* him and knew how to approach him.

If you've read any book by Fredrik Backman before this one its structure won't feel like a surprise but still it was a superbly written book that truly broke my heart. It also really made me smile. It was so so good.
