A book I reference like it is my own Bible and have read dozens of times. It has helped me find my way more than once. I absolutely adore Richard Bach for giving the world this way of looking at things.

I picked this book up 3 months ago, read the first little bit, and although I was intrigued I didn’t finish it. Now, three months later, I started again from the beginning and finished it over the weekend. I quite like this book. The story is simple, a bit strange, and it’s all thought provoking with an upfront approachability. I’ve read a couple other short books recently that are meant to enlighten your thinking, but I think this is one of my favorites.
I don’t like rating books like this, because I think so much of it is up to the reader and the timing for them. There were little things that didn’t sit perfectly, but that added to the charm. I’d like to reread it again some time down the road and probably recommend it to a few people. So, read it if you’re curious. Likely, you’re curious for a reason.

Don is Siddartha for girls whose the smiths were the mountain goats. i'm girls.
Creo que es el peor libro que leeré este año, o al menos espero que lo sea.
While I enjoyed Richard Bach's Jonathan Livingston Seagull when I first read it as a teenager, it was both for its philosophy as well as for its gentle humor and simple (though not simplistic) view of the important things in life. I did not have as positive a reaction to Illusions. While it was mildly interesting to me, it seemed more like somewhat amateurish fiction than anything that was especially thought-provoking or developmental. There are some good quotes in the book, and it held my attention as a young man, but I don't think it would now. JLS, on the other hand, though much shorter and quick to read, led me to think and ponder on some important life issues...issues that with age (and hopefully added wisdom), I still believe are critically important. Illusions just didn't do that for me.
