Maura is completely insufferable and awful in this installment. Besides the blatant xenophobia, she’s also rude and unkind to Mick and Rose. In previous books I’ve wondered if the audiobook narrator voices Maura in a way that I find unlikeable, but this time it’s definitely just her personality, communication, inner thoughts… everything. Hoping the next/final book shows a better side of her.

This book is poorly written with a ton of added dull fluff to fill the pages. There are gaps in the barely existent plot, and strong tones of xenophobia. The chapters are repetitive. Scenes don’t match up, or the same scene happens twice as if the author forgot she already wrote that part of the book. Dull and unintelligent.
Moderate: Xenophobia
