Couldn’t give it a 3 because I cringed SO MANY TIMES. But it is a simple and easy read.

nikirie's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 46%

The plot started strong, and they laid the foundation off how the main characters felt about each other and would interact. Then suddenly they were joking and getting along, it was suddenly like they were switching their love/hate on and off randomly. It felt like too much of a surface level story with limited depth. I loved the situations they were in and their cultures very much. But their reactions to each other were just not in line with the beginning of the story. Bummer.

Childhood friends who haven’t seen each other in 10 years hitch a fake engagement plan to keep their respective families from bothering them about their current relationship statuses. I could’ve done without some of the romance sections and had more character development, but it was a good break from some of the more serious reads recently.

Didn’t like Daisy in the first book. She seemed like a different person in this one.

the family feels were everything but overall, it felt a little underdeveloped
