Libby audio. This was cute and I enjoyed some of the deeper elements, like the role of family, lies, guilt, resentment.
2.5 I really wanted to like this, but I thought that both of the main characters were far too stereotypical. Daisy was a typically quirky smart girl who plans too much and lives her life by a spreadsheet, and Liam was a typically bad boy with a dark past but secretly a softie at heart. The fake-dating trope wasn't believable to me. It was said that Liam and Daisy had a lot of history, but this was only talked about in abstract terms of "we've known each other forever" with no specific details. The progression of their relationship was also unrealistic, because Daisy went from hating him to loving him in no time at all, and there wasn't enough background for me to believe that this was because of their history. I didn't totally hate this book, but I wasn't invested in the relationship because there were way too many other things going on with the side characters.
This is just not grabbing my attention in the slightest. I think I’m gonna try the third book of this series and see if I like that instead
All of the aspects of a love story, except Desai does a fantastic job of creating the main character who doesn’t need to be swept off her feet and saved by a Prince Charming. Disney meets 2021. Quick and easy read with a light-hearted feel.

Leuke romcom! De dynamiek zat goed, leuke dialogen en fijne achtergrond van de families.
major tw for abuse!!! but this book was very good i had low expectations bc i don’t usually like the corny woc/white man combo but this was a little too excellent. like they actually explore each other’s interests and hobbies and communicate w each other and set boundaries
