Generally this was sweet. But there were factual and writing errors, and it didn't feel like anything about the book hadn't been done before. I like a fake relationship trope, but have a very hard time with the I'm not worthy trope. And it was too long - it went on and on.

Okay listen, I loved this book! I liked it a WHOLE lot more than The Marriage Game. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars was because as a hockey fan, I could not handle when they said halftime FOUR TIMES IN FIVE PAGES! There is no half time in hockey! I can understand one slip, I can understand if the author didn't catch this, but the editors and the publisher?! How did so many people miss this?! There are three periods. There are two intermissions. There is NO HALFTIME!!!

Okay rant over. Besides that, I loved this book

There were a lot of things wrong with this book. The characters personality traits were just so exaggerated to the point where it was just unrealistic and annoying. Especially Daisy's obsession with Marvel. I find it hard to believe anyone actually owns multiple Marvel themed bras lol. Also all these people's problems could be solved with like a 5 minute conversation 10 years ago. I also refuse to believe that these people are in there late 20s, Daisy is still so obsessed with her high school prom, like I'm sorry but no one is still upset about prom 10 years later.

I did enjoy some things though. I liked that Daisy was a software engineer, I always like romance novels where the main character is a woman in stem! I also thought the ending was pretty perfect.

Thank you to Berkley for my gifted copy in exchange for my honest review of The Dating Plan. I really enjoyed getting to know Daisy, her family, and her culture and that was a big highlight of this book for me. Author Sara Desai set the scene so well it almost felt like I was there. And how gorgeous is this cover?!⁣

Unfortunately, I really struggled with the premise. I didn't love that the plotline revolved around Liam reappearing in Daisy's life when he had previously hurt her and had never acknowledged or dealt with these issues. Both characters had things they needed to work through, but I didn’t think a magical love story was the answer.

Because of this, I just had a hard time feeling fully invested in the storyline. I will say that I struggle with contemporary romance books that don't feel based on reality and this book may work well for many readers, it just didn't completely work for me.

AMAZING!! Once id started I just couldn't put it back down. The banter is great to see and the characters are well-developed.

Women in STEM. Fake marriage. Fake fiancé.

The love story was cute and fun.

This was a quick and fun read! Wish I could say there were parts of it that surprised me but I kinda felt like I knew where the plot was going the entire time however there were a couple fun twists that I enjoyed.

This book also reminded of This Time Next Year which I read last month and both are worth the read.
