Cute romance, very entertaining. But every single thing that happened in this book felt predictable and as if I'd read it a million times. The thing that really bothered me about this book, however, was the really bad descriptions of software engineering. I couldn't get past the cringe.
Cute and a little spicy
3.5 stars rounded up. This was a cute and a little spicy romcom. I liked the brainy female lead and the bad boy thats actually a good boy male lead. Entertaining and quick read.

The lust came on a little too fast, too strong for me. I had to skip some parts because there was too much.. and zoned out in other parts because it was too meh. But the banter was funny and I liked her family a lot. Good narrator.
3.5 or 4 stars out of 5 stars
I saw this cover and I instantly wanted it on my shelf. I also adore fake dating plots. This one was fun. As soon as I read Aunties trying to set up niece for marriage, I was in. I love books with family. Daisy's relationship with her family is a stark contrast to Liam's relationship with his family and that was featured a lot. I liked that Liam used to be very close to Daisy and her immediate family, it made the fake engagement much more believable(though, does anyone actually do that in real life? ). Adored Daisy and Liam's dates(especially the first date and the sports date) and Liam's interactions with all of Daisy's family. I ALWAYS got excited when there was an interaction with Liam and a family member of Daisy's.
Note that this book was thicker than I anticipated. I had hoped going in that maybe this book would take place throughout their one year of marriage, but it didn't.
Also, I skipped the salacious material. For those wanting to skip those parts as well here are the pages I didn't read: 168-172,206-213, 234-237,313-316, top of 338
Warning tape: mentioned of being high, drunkenness, abuse, cursing, explicit sexual content, homosexuality, driving under the influence, stealing, fornication

I loved the cultural aspects in the book and the plottwist at the end. The chemistry between both protagonists without it being a standard romance (enemies to lovers) was refreshing
DNF’d at page 8. When a book says “quirky” more than 2 times in the first 8 pages, I ain’t reading it
Also the first chapter. So all over the place and hard to grasp anything about the situation she was in.
Just not for me

This was a quick read, overall alright. I really liked Daisy's family and those interactions. The relationship between Daisy and Liam was more on the side of insta-love, but not the worst I've read. The ending was a bit wild, it felt like trope after trope after trope and was a little unessary, though was sort of entertaining. Good for a quick, cheesy, slightly unbelievable, rom-com.

This was not for me. The fake engaged trope was very thin, the dialogue was cringey, and the characters were lusting for each other without any buildup. Their “past” (which took place when they were children…) was relied on too heavily for the reason for their instalove, which felt lazy and unearned. Some of the dialogue was funny, but most of it missed the mark for me.
Read if you like very easy, light rom-coms and aren’t picky about dialogue or depth.

Graphic: Domestic abuse
Moderate: Car accident, Death of parent
Wearing matching Iron Man underwear & bra is not quirky it is psychotic.
