There's barely a space in this short McCall Smith story where the main character, Fatty O'Leary, isn't in some sort of predicament. Very amusing and easy to read!

I read so slowly that I thought a short book like this from an author I usually enjoy would be a pleasure but this was not something I much liked. Once the basic pattern was set it was obvious at any point what was going to happen next for the remainder of the book. None of the characters seemed particularly sympathetic to me, nor were they believable. Remarkable.
A question would be why I read this to its conclusion - as I said, it was short and I was curious how it was going to end. Oh well, I satisfied my curiosity.
