This was cute. It was fun getting Landon's cheerful perspective on everyone.

Eh. I enjoy these books, and this was fine, but it felt a tad lazy compared to the others. It's a short, but most of the other shorts are more interesting.

Sigh, I went into this book and was prepared to love it, because it is one of my favourite characters and I have been looking forward to this one for quite some time.

And don't get me wrong, it was a good short, just not as good as the others. Let me tell you why (I hid the review because of spoilers but I try not to divulge too much):
My most prominent reason is that all the shorts brought me closer the the character from whose POV it was told. I learned something profound and new about this character. Here that just isn't the case. The only new thing I learned is that Landon is in a one-sided competition with a douchebag and even their superior ackknowledges that it isnt a real one because Landon is CLEARLY the better agent.
Then we didnt get any of the dinner theatre everyone is so fond of even though this short takes place in the present.
Usually, everyone is concerned when law enforcement comes by especially since these are colleagues and the superior of Landon. There wasn't much of this here.
The conference was just an excuse to ... yeah, I dont really know for what.
I didn't feel anything was advanced here. Yes, they are moving in together soon, yes we had a talk between the Steve and Landon about that and we had schmaltzy stuff between Landon and Bay.

It just seemed to be superficial. There was so much potential here, but I feel it wasnt fulfilled.

This sounds super critical right now for a 4 star review, but I had very very high expectations for this one. Maybe too high.

Also, it was the first book I heard on audible and I will read the short on kindle once it gets out and see if that changes anything.

On a last note, maybe I expected to finally let them find out that Landon and Bay were already falling for each other as kids and to learn more about how his family is dealing with the witchy thing.
