The first book I've read by him. I'm looking forward to reading more!

Really funny and some touching stories of growing up as David Sedaris. If you appreciate Sedaris already, this is a must read. I really identified with his wacky family in some of the short stories. :)

Well, I think that’s the last Sedaris book for me. I loved Me Talk Pretty, but the last few I’ve read have left me more sad than amused and troubled at what comes across as callousness. So many horrid bits about animals, that’s probably the worst part for me. And the story about his sister Tiffany was so haunting given her later suicide...the last line really got to me. I laugh out loud often when listening to Sedaris, but after the last few reads I no longer thing, “I’d like to be his friend”. I don’t think I would like him in person at all. Some good jokes, though.

Pretty funny. I've never read a David Sedaris book before. I probably shouldn't have started with this one. Entertaining enough.
