I have mixed feelings about this first installment. I kept thinking how much it mimicked Grisha Trilogy, but paled in comparison. I found the world building intriguing, but the romance was completely flat. I am invested enough to continue on with the second book.

I have no expectation before reading this book but I expected that there will be a lot of violence but not really..But there's a lot of mention of blood, razors and cuts.
I'm surprised to find myself enjoying this book and can't put this book down.
I love all 3 main characters, each of them was so interesting to read and so excited to get to know them more in the next book.
The world building and the pacing of the book was really good, it's easy to follow and understand and get suck into it.
And the romance was good, if it were a New Adult or Adult genre would love to see more steamy slow burn romance lol.

Like many others have said this is basically Grisha fanfiction. I just feel like this has been done and done better by other authors. I feel like there is nothing original here which makes me very sad because I love characters like Nadya but I didn't really connect to her or anyone else? I do love cleric like characters though, I love books about gods and magic. This just felt really flat to me.

i have extremely confused feelings for this one, mainly because i'm extremely confused by this book. i just dont get this one. the writing is pretty good, and the plot is intriguing and actually kind of amazing but i just dont get what happened in the end.
i don't really like Nadya a lot, simply because i find her WAY too naive. why would you kiss someone immediately after they've just revealed an exceptionally bad life-altering secret?????? Malachiasz, for me, is a manipulator. i would punch him after talking to him for 2 minutes.
one thing i did love was how well serefin was written. love this character so much. but the rest was just meh. will not be continuing with this series.
