I think this is one of the best volumes of Fables, if not THE best.
Oh Flycatcher how I love you. This was a great volume in an already amazing comic series. Fly is definitely one of my favorite characters, who wouldn't love a frog prince turned lovable janitor. His transition in this volume makes me so happy. it's lovely seeing Flycatcher transform into King Ambrose. I think this might be my favourite story line of Fables.
Perhaps one of the best stories yet. Again marred by less than stellar artwork. And the birthday story looked like someone gave it to their 10 year old kid to draw. As popular and critically acclaimed as this series was, why couldn't they get some better artists?
Fables is a wondrously clever series of graphic novels that are just chock full of all kinds of fairy tale inside jokes and great storytelling. None of them are a disappointment and this one is a particularly heartwarming tale of redemption. I highly recommend this series.

March 2024: This far in my re-read, I think this is maybe my favorite volume. Flycatcher's redemption is so beautiful and inspirational, and I adored following along on his journey. I really loved this one.
