Book 10 in the series, this one dealt mostly with Ambrose, aka Flycatcher, his newly restored memories, and what he chose to do with this knowledge.
Tying in nicely with Fabletown's preparations for the upcoming war, Ambrose deals a staggering blow to the Empire while finding his way to his destiny.

Flycatcher has never been my favourite character - he's a little too shaggy for me - but he really came into his own in this volume, transforming into quite the valiant and noble hero and king of his own realm. It was also good to see some dead characters return. I'll be interested to see whether King Ambrose has any further bearing on the fate of Fabletown, having done so much already to assist their cause.
This volume really had me tearing up by the end. Wow.
As I often do, I read this all at a go today. It's the thickest collection, and one of the best. A couple of the issues have a different artist. I didn't much care for that artist's work - it seemed much more cartoonish than the rest of the series. But the art was good enough to get the point across, and thankfully brief.
I just wish I didn't have to wait for November 2008 to read the next one!

I liked having a story that focused on Flycatcher, but I wish there had been more information about his life before Fabletown. There are hints and vague references, but nothing concrete, which I would have enjoyed.
So intricate, weaving all the storylines together. I enjoyed the overarching theme of this book and the way it moved the story along but there was too much jumping around for my taste.
Like when Boy Blue ventured into the Homelands to find Red Riding Hood, this is one of the best volumes in the Fables series! Ambrose is such an interesting character and his quest is engrossing and amazing! Loved every minute!
this volume was....well it was long. it felt like it was going on and on and on. it was good, but not great...not quite riveting, but not boring either.
I was surprised that such an important role was given to a character who has been on the sidelines this whole time.
kind of wondering now why/how the adversary has had so much success with his domination of the homelands when Fly was able to do so much in so little time.
