Nancy's mailman has his bag stolen while delivering her "mysterious" letter. Nancy seeks out, not only, the mailbag thief, but also get namesake and the rightful heir to an inheritance for which she wrongfully received the letter. There's a lengthy interlude attending a football match with Ned's family, which coincidentally brings Nancy in contact with Edgar, the thief and the other Nancy. Many coincidences and a slightly unsatisfactory resolution.
I loved this book. I used to read this when I was younger and absolutely loved them and still to.
I think I need a break from the cheesiness of this series, though great for kids. And wow, Ned's a quarterback, punter and a kicker. SMH. Books written so long ago are weird.
It was mostly pretty boring and lacked the typical excitement and sleuthy goodness that came with a Nancy Drew mystery. :/

This is probably the most bland Nancy book yet. The plot is just okay and the mystery is full of more coincidences than actual snooping. Plus there are many inprobable or innacurrate plot points including a football game scene that is so improbable that I read it 4 times and was still baffled.
