Oh bloody sensational.
This is nearly as good as it gets. Perhaps Henning Mankell has written better, I don;t know. This is my first, and I am super excited.
I had a Louise Penny binge in early 2016. Seems like another binge could be on its way. Have already picked up 'Faceless Killers' next.
Review maybe next year, when I get some perspective.

I liked this. You're never surprised by his endings, because you know all, if not more, than the main detective does towards solving the case. But that's ok because it is always an interesting story.

A real page-turner! Hard to put down and read fairly quickly for such a long book. Never read anything by this author but I sure will look for more.

A page turner that I couldn't put down. One of the best thrillers I have ever read.

Now this is a good thriller. Slightly creepy (mm maybe more than slightly), with a good pace, and decent characters. I say decent because I was fairly confused about a few of the characters. The ones that I could tell apart were great. I assume it would help if you read more of the series. But the plot is good, the creepiness is verging on 11, and you won't want to put this one down.

Mankell's best Wallander book yet! It was suspenseful and carefully crafted. I purchased the book because the TV episode left me pondering. Something didn't sit well after I viewed it. Well worth it! I was so captivated by the storyline that I forgot I already knew who the killer was. If you have to pick one Mankell book, pick this one! But the others are good reads, too.

I am now reading my way through the rest of the Wallander series. They are wonderful because Mankell has created a likeable, flawed, human being as his lead character. I would like to meet Kurt Wallander.

This is my favourite book I’ve read this year. It was like a criminal minds episode.
