Penny Reid has a magical way of creating characters with flaws and depth and dealing with serious real life issues but keeping it funny and relatable. Motion is no exception. The whirlwind romance of Mona and Abram is intense from the get go and doesn't lose steam. Eagerly awaiting the rest of the series!!

Penny Reid is back in her wheelhouse once again in all her geeky glory with Motion, the first book in the Laws of Physics series. This brilliantly written ‘smart romance’ features an insanely gifted yet quirky heroine, an adorably responsible musician named Abram, and metric tons of slow-burning yet piping hot chemistry—my absolute favorite!
Mona may be a prodigy in scientific circles, but she’s introverted, socially inept, and out of her element in the real world. When her twin sister gets into legal trouble, she needs Mona to cover for her or she will be cut off from her family’s fortune. Impersonating her sister, who couldn’t be further apart from Mona on the personality spectrum, may be the toughest task she has ever undertaken.
Abram, who is Marie’s brother from [b:Dating-ish|34454739|Dating-ish (Knitting in the City, #6)|Penny Reid|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1488553398s/34454739.jpg|50705784], has been tasked with babysitting Mona (well, her sister actually). He’s had a bad experience with Mona’s twin in the past, so Abram is not looking forward to the job. What he doesn’t expect is how different she is from before, so the chemistry between them is unexpected (and so stinking cute, I might add).
There is so much going on it this book from the famous absentee parents, Doogie Howser-level genius, twin sister swapping, opposites attract, brother’s best friend, to the brilliant musician hero—BUT, you know what? It totally works! I was drawn into the story from the start and I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end. And what an ending it was, too. Total.cliffhanger. Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait for the second book (and the next cliffhanger)!

I have been waiting for this book ever since I read Capture and finally it arrived last month to my mail box, courtesy of the author. I devoured it in one sitting, I didn’t even pause to eat, or drink or sleep. Was it everything I wanted, no it was not. It was actually far far better than anything I could have imagined.
Mona’s identical twin, Lisa is in heap loads of trouble and the only person who can save her is Mona herself by pretending to be Lisa! The classic twin switch but done so incredibly well that you simply can’t put it down.
Now you might be wondering, what role does Abram play in all this twin switching? Well it is he that Mona has to convince to get Lisa out of trouble. I am not going to say anything more, just go forth and enjoy this slowburn romance with a heroine so adorable that you will want to wrap her in a never ending hug and a hero that is so freaking hot that you will need to sit under the ac in full blast, a book that will also make you laugh your ass off and feel all the feels.
P.S. Just a friendly reminder, it has a cliffhanger that just might drive you mad for the next one month 🤭

I think I made a mistake. I just read this book in a few hours on my snow day, when I should have been working on my mountain of homework, but there wasn't any hope of me putting this book down. And now I have to wait a whole month before the next one comes out!! I'm not sure how I'll make it that long

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Okay, so Mona is super focused. She's obsessed with all things physics and relativity and scientificky gobbledygook. Most of it is way over my head, but that's not the point. The point is that this girl is a genius and never really had the chance to be 'normal'. When her twin sister, Lisa, calls her because she got herself in a bit of a pickle, she's a bit resistant. Pretend to be her? They haven't done that since they were kids. Shoot, they barely know each other anymore. Mona is super studious and Lisa is a notorious party girl. How could she successfully pull this off? Well, in honor of their lost relationship, Mona's gonna give it the old college try.
Enter Abram, who isn't focused. He's Mona's brother's best friend, a gifted musician who seems to take life as it comes. He couldn't be more different than Mona. But opposites attract, right? And there's no denying that despite some initial animosity on Abram's part, these two are being pulled together like magnets. What will happen when Lisa wants her life back? What will Abram do when he learns the truth?
You can never go wrong when picking up a book by Penny Reid. Whether it's laughs your looking for or some sweet new adult romance, she's got the story for you. Motion is the start of something sweet, with characters you can't help but become invested in. There's lies and secrets and misunderstandings and the beautiful sirrings of attraction. What's not to like? I need the next book, Space, so I can find out WHA???

Just ok, bit juvenile for me and part of a series. Not overly invested in characters or storyline. Not sure I’ll keep going with the series.

This is cute and funny, but too much inner dialogue for my liking!

Mona is the best, she became so fast my second favorite pennyverse heroine (after our goddess Marie, of course). The biggest thing I feel right now, however, is regret. I should have waited until the entire trilogy was out. I hate myself for not waiting. This month is going to be torture.
