the writing was far too juvenile and the dialogue was too ridiculous for a story about characters aged 30 and older I'm sorry. Not to mention that the mystery was just poorly done

DNF at 50 pages. Interesting concept, but the timeline contradicted in the first four chapters (is it Tuesday or Friday? Is it Ben’s birthday or nearly his birthday?), and the characters all seemed flat and underdeveloped. I learnt the author was 23 when they wrote this, which helps explain why the 30 year old divorced character who just left their career to return to their home town just didn’t feel emotionally realistic.

This book was kinda fun but I wouldn’t recommend it or read it again. I read the audio book and at times it felt just not well written with some repetitive-ness and the characters were not fully flushed out. We barely got to hear about dad and the was his condition was impacting him. And the reason the killer killed was still a tad unclear because the connection between them and the shop didn’t fully make sense to me
