After finishing this book it is clear to me that A.M. Stuart has listened to the readers feedback from her first Harriet Gordon Mysteries novel. I thoroughly enjoyed the latest installment of this series and I wanted to know more about who did what and why. Some characters are absolutely despicable and for good reason, but the main cast of characters are interesting and their back stories showcase how they came to be the people they are in this time setting. Stuart's past in the Australian Army added additional charm and realism to how life in the barracks is, and I appreciated her efforts to remain as true as possible to local architecture and past-current events that would have effected the characters.  I'm excited to see what is in store for the next installment of this series!
