feels like it’s actually just a better written version of the first Harry Potter book, wish i had read it as a kid

also reminds me a bit of Neil Gaiman’s Ocean at the End of the Lane 

good read 

actually really beautiful and imaginative, i loved picturing the world as i read

it felt very emotional to me and I loved all of the biblical connections and symbolism, very beautifully done

I know that the movies are different—and i liked actually learning the origin story of Narnia, as all of this book happens before the movie begins and sets up for it

I have always really liked the witch’s character as well. It’s rare to get an old classic story with a powerful and purely evil female villain. She’s cool. 

…..and if i say that the spoken magic word of the queen that destroys everything in the universe foreshadows the nuclear war climate back in the human world…….? this is nonsense srry

The imagery of the whole book (or quite possibly the actual art) was so beautiful. The story was so fun and whimsical but it was a little slow at the end.

The writing on this is decent but the story is lacking. It's supposed to be like Genesis and suffers from the same unexplained magic and ultimate power with no challenges. It's a quick read, but definitely skippable if you're reading the series to/as a young reader.

Da leggere a dei bambini. La storia va velocissima e non c'è una grande descrizione di particolari. Perfetto appunto per essere letto prima di dormire a dei bambini. Questo era il suo scopo, quindi riuscitissimo. Non di mio gusto però.
