Nothing wrong with this one, but more a snippet to introduce/connect two fun characters than a standalone novella. Still, I can’t wait to read The Rose Code in 2024 and get more Osla!

Nothing spectacular. I did enjoy being back in the Rose Code world a bit. An interesting little listen.

I wanted to love this book as it was written by two of my favorite writers, but I felt it just missed the mark.

In Smoke Signal, I was reintroduced to Osla Kendall from The Rose Code and Agatha Christie from The Mystery of Mrs. Christie. The blending of these two worlds could have been magical, espionage and a mystery writer, how could you go wrong, but it just didn't have that spark for which these two writers are known. I feel that with this storyline, the authors could have gone so much deeper, but alas, it was a novella and not a full novel, so it left me wanting.

While this is not on my all-time favorites list, it is still a good story about two amazing real-life women who served their country in a time of war.

What was this?   I was hoping for a well thought out short story.  So much clumsy exposition.   My expectations were not met

Fun novella revisiting characters from a book I thoroughly enjoyed. I have read The Rose Code, but have yet to read The Mystery of Mrs. Christie. I am looking forward to reading that book soon.
