A contemporary collection of feminist poetry mostly dealing with violence and crimes against women, growing up as a girl and love.
As with all types of anthologies it was a mixed bag in terms of quality but some of these were truly brilliant. I'd love to read a longer format by the author.

started precise and loosened up near the end. the writing was great, beautiful, but the contents of the poems are not for the light hearted. absolutely horrible, made me sick to my stomach.

i think it’s written very well, and the subject matter is interesting, it’s just that it hits too close to home, and i am the wrong type of reader for it. i don’t like books that remind me to be scared.

I can see why people love this collection, but I honestly got about a quarter of the way through and hate-read it until the end. The only poem I genuinely enjoyed was “Ode to My Bitch Face,” which is what brought it up that extra .5.
