lovely lovely read, i cannot believe i had not read this book sooner, child me would have adored it. the perfect amount of hopefulness and magic and adventure. the disney movies definetely tone it down (with good reason), but they both evoke this feeling of lightness and nostalgia that leaves you kind of dazed at the end. i loved hearing it and listening to the songs and the narrator's input. cried at the end 😋✌🏻

I started tons of books when I was sick and this was a win for a day not feeling great. It's light, familiar, and fun. I love the characters and the witty, albeit outdated, writing. This one is magical and whimsical in all the fun ways for an adult to read a kid's story without getting bored. 4/5 overall. 10/10 for the random day when you want something good, but halfway between witty and kidsy.
