Admittedly, I started reading this without realizing it was a sequel to another book, but I don't think that matters much

This book is enjoyable, but that's about all I can give it other than it's nice to see so many women of color featured in a romance. It reads like something I wrote in middle school. I hope someone lets the author know there are other words than COCK for a penis & it's far from the sexiest option when repeated 20 times. Don't get me wrong. I'm probably gonna read other stuff by her because I like books that don't take themselves too seriously, but sometimes I do wish we could just leave the fanfiction on Ao3.

The spice!!! Such a fun and funny read. The ending felt abrupt to me though. I wish the epilogue was focused on the two main characters rather than setting up for the next book, although it did make me excited to read the next one.
