Pros:

• A really compelling premise -- definitely a unique and deserving perspective.
• Strong character development 
• I loved the integration of Deaf culture lessons and ASL into the text

Cons:

• I would categorize this as closer to YA than adult fiction, which is fine! It was not quite what I was expecting though.
• The pacing was strong right up until the end, which seemed pretty rushed
• The inclusion of Wikipedia and book excerpts detracted a bit from the narrative, in my opinion. The Deaf history and ASL was valuable, but the other passages not as much.

So much to think about in this one as a parent of a Deaf child. This one will stick with me.
