My sweet friend Susannah recommended this one, and I loved it so much.

Not as good as i'll give you the sun.
But i enjoyed it! I love her writing!

I have to give this book 5 stars because it brought me to tears. It made me angry and annoyed and joyous and brought me to tears when it finally hits its climax. Jandy Nelson writes in beautiful metaphors and comparisons. She goes to the heart of grief and how it sometimes makes people do things they wouldn't normally, but how sometimes that can be a good thing.

Knowing profound sadness can happen at any moment means you know that joy and beauty can come from any moment too.

Grief can turn the companion pony into a racehorse.

After reading this book in a matter of hours, I can confirm that Jandy Nelson has done it again. This author has taken my heart strings and twisted them in every direction. While reading this book I got told a story of love, friendship, family, but most importantly, grief. Lennie's character was immaculately gorgeous, with her way of writing small poems everywhere and playing the clarinet with great frenzy. A romance that made me smile too big for my face, this book belongs on my shelf.
