10/10 : Oh man, this book is YA heaven. It’s a super easy read, but don’t mistake that for a lack of depth. This is a beautiful coming if age story, about the powers of loss, love, and trying to come to terms with the many emotions those two huge, all encompassing issues produce. The writing is evocative & poetic, the words sing with clarity & colour, it feels alive. I adored Nelson’s second novel, which I read earlier in the year, & this was an exquisite debut. I look forward to future book releases.

Amazing, one of my favorite authors! Have owned this book for years but never read it until now, have however read ”I give you the sun” which is one of my all time favorite books. But even though I’m mildly annoyed that I waited so long to read this I think it was for the best as it’s quite heavy and sad, wayyyy to sad for 10 year old me to read (the age I bought it)!!!
Ganska fin bok som fick mycket karaktär av dikterna utspridda i boken. Överlag kändes dock boken väldigt barnslig och kärleken ocj väldigt många handlingar orealistiska, jag kunde inte riktigt förstå huvudkaraktären och kände alldeles för mycket irritation mot henne. Annars en lättläst bok som skulle vara bra som en sommarlovsbok.

Jandy Nelson vai falar sobre luto, sobre dor, sobre amor e ser amada. Sobre como seguir a vida depois que alguém morre. Esse livro é lindo de uma forma impressionante e fico surpreso que poucas pessoas conheçam. Os poemas no meio do livro e toda a dor que é passada é tão linda.

I would take the entire book and make it into one big quote that I would read over and over again, that is how much I loved this book! <333333

it was good but it's little upsetting the lack of plot, i thought she was going after her mom, although i liked how light and silly the ending felt like, i cried a little reading this book because i have a sister and books like this are hard to read but overall recommend it
i wanted to keep reading but at some points the book became repetitive and pretty gross to read, especially the second time through.
