1 star; this was awful!
I knew I probably wouldn’t like this book and yet I really didn’t like this book.
I’m not even going to get into a whole review because there are so many people on here explaining it better than I would about what is wrong with this book.
The one thing I will point out though, I hated the way the MMC made fun of the FMC when she got her period, like it was so disgusting and how dare she just start bleeding out of nowhere

I expected a fun, sex positive, and sex work positive romp and this was not it. It actually felt very anti-sex worker and came off as real judgemental. Not for me.

I was a little scared going into this book. Just because the themes in this book is for me not something I am into.
But I ended ut enjoying more than expected.
Reading like 3 Mariana Zapata books almost in a row has been such a great way using my week!

After my binge of Helena Hunting's Pucked series, I was on a mission to find another fun romantic comedy when I stumbled across Lingus. When a book starts with the female lead attending a porn convention, things seem promising. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I got something even better.
I was expecting an highly irreverent look at the porn industry with a lot of excess smut, insta-love and not a lot of substance. What I got was a super sweet friends-to-lovers story with a lot of sarcasm and laughs. Will definitely read more from Mariana Zapata!

This is the second time I have read Lingus.
There is just something about this story that tugs my heart. I love the character of Kat, she was super sweet and somewhat sassy. She knew how to hold her own with her friends, but when a tall dark and handsome man finds her digging for gold, she is speechless. Tristan was adorable. I didn't understand why or how he got into the business, but that wasn't really a problem. I cherished the way that they took their time in being friends and not jumping into something that might fade out being too quick and too soon.
I am a big fan of MZ books. Lingus was my first and I am sure I will come back to him again and again. But for now I am on a roll with a re read of her other books.

Wtf did I just listen to? Her "inner whore"? She kept bitching and judging everyone? They all called each other mean names and passed it off as friendship? Tristan was exasperating most of the time? And unlike all her other audiobooks, there's no male voice actor so we get, for once, a Mariana Zapata slow burn with actual sex in it and the poor voice actress cannot keep up with both parts on the sex scenes and it just sounds cringey and, ironically, like bad porn?
