I feel like Agatha is so hyped up and I’m not sure if I get it or not. On one hand the mystery was intricate and well thought out but on the other, it didn’t interest me too much until later on. The 50 million clues are wonderful and all give something to the mystery but as someone with no interest in trying to solve it, it delayed my interest in the story because everything was about what these clues mean in relation to the murder. There wasn’t anything that facilitated an emotional attachment or interest in the story until partway through when I was able to make a bit of sense of these random clues and make a guess, because then I wanted to know if I was right.
Brilliant work in making the mystery and the attention to detail but I didn’t feel particularly invested until a bit too late and I was only invested because I wanted to be right, not because of what was in the novel. Still, I’d like to give another a try and see if that sticks more because I do admire the way she concocted this mystery.

Κι αφού αποφάσισα να ξαναπιάσω τα βιβλία της Κρίστι από την αρχή, δε γινόταν να μη διαβάσω το πρώτο της βιβλίο, το οποίο παραδόξως δεν είχα διαβάσει ως τώρα… Εγώ έχανα!
Από τα καλύτερα βιβλία της που έχω διαβάσει, ενώ και οι πληροφορίες που είχα πάρει από το Μυστήριο της Κυρίας Κρίστι που βασίζεται στην αυτοβιογραφία της συγγραφέως με βοήθησε να διαβάσω το βιβλίο έχοντας μια διαφορετική, πιο σφαιρική, οπτική.
Δε θα πω τίποτα για την υπόθεση πέρα από το ότι είναι ευφυέστατη και καλοστημένη, ο Πουαρό είναι απολαυστικότατος και ο δολοφόνος είναι όπως πάντα καλά κρυμμένος μπροστά σου διαρκώς!

I may have done myself a disservice by listening to this as an audiobook, because I found myself confused throughout the story as to which character was which.
It was fine, but I felt like I was forcing myself to get through this book rather than be intrigued and thrilled by the mystery.
