I read this to my baby almost every night, sometimes through tears due to the touching text.

Beautiful, loving board book for a new baby with a First Nations lullaby.

Oh my god, this amazing and beautiful. I think little kids would love all the pictures of (ethnically diverse) babies and the message is so sweet and tear-jerky. I don't even have kids and it made me want to cry (in a good way).

Probably 3.5 stars. The babies and I liked the photographs of the diverse families. The text is lovely, but more appealing to adults than very small children. I tried singing it and that engaged my granddaughter a bit. Still, just looking at these pictures while holding your little one is worth your while.

Really lovely homage to a newborn written by First Nations author Richard Van Camp. This book features a moving ode to a baby alongside images of babies and their caregivers.

an example of the prose:

Your life is a song
We shall sing together
Your Life is a story
We shall tell together

Best new baby book ever! I'm sending one to the newest newborn in my life before the week is out. I'll be doing this a lot.
