Chapter 14 ripped my heart out. I can't begin to imagine how lonely Aoi must feel.
SpoilerErasing his childhood friend's memories was for the best, it would at least ease his pain, but now Aoi must harbor that forever, knowing he could have had his best friend back. It's too sad!

What the heck did Yukari say at the end of chapter 15?! HUH?! This is giving wendigo vibes.

Annoyingly this is the one volume I can’t see to get a physical copy of, I read it online and I can say I think it’s the best volume so far.

Aoi’s backstory is explored more here. The art work is as gorgeous as ever.

I’m really enjoying this series, although sometimes the pacing is a bit muddled.

I realized that I didn't care for or about the characters. This series didn't feel like it had a consistent plot.

(May contain spoilers.)

The guy from the cliffhanger just ends up breaking my heart in this volume. Ugh.

Hidaka questions Himari about her ring from Aoi, because he recognizes it. When Himari finds out that he’s supposedly cursed, she takes it upon herself to help him, even when he pushes her away in fear of her getting hurt. And this leads to discovering that Hidaka knew Aoi when they were little, and it just breaks my heart a little. I didn’t want it to end that way, and I just want to hug Aoi even more now.

After that, the ayakashi that was cursing Hidaka joins the gang at Momochi House, and he causes a little bit of trouble, but mostly he’s just an adorable little kid. Because of the trouble, though, we do get to see how Aoi really feels about Himari, and he’s so cute. I just love Aoi. The cliffhanger this time, though, looks to be leading to a backstory on Yukari, one of Aoi’s shikigami, and I look forward to that. The shikigami don’t stand out much yet, and I would like to get to know them better.

I am enjoying this series. It’s good, if a little sad at times. I look forward to the next one.

A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!

I've had the first 4 volumes of this series on my shelf for over a year, so I'm glad I finally got around to reading them.

While this series has gotten better since the first volume, I don't think I'm going to continue it. I don't particularly like any of the characters, and there's no denying that this series is remarkably similar to Kamisama Kiss -- just not as good. The whole time I was reading these 4 volumes, I kept wishing I was reading Kamisama Kiss instead.

Great art, but the plot is still a little slow. Things do seem to be moving forward, so I'm looking forward to future volumes.
